| Meet Lily |
Heather had wanted a dog for many years, "a small dog that I could play with but also easily take places with me," she says. "When I found a breeder with a litter of Morkie puppies I immediately planned to go see them."
Small Dog, Big Love
When Heather walked into the room, she remembers, "Lily ran up to me with her tiny tail wagging and licked me on the cheek when I picked her up. I knew she was the one and immediately claimed her!" Not much has changed. When Heather comes home from work, Lily "wags her tail as fast as it will go, dashes into my arms and gives me kisses!"
Teddy, A Dog's Best Friend
A Morkie - also known as a Yorktese or a Malkie - is a cross between a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier, two small breeds. "When I first brought Lily home," Heather says, "she was very tiny, barely two pounds. It was difficult to find toys small enough for her to play with.
"Lily would follow me wherever
I went
and always carried her little
teddy bear with her."

I found a tiny teddy bear and it immediately became Lily's favorite toy. Lily would follow me wherever I went and always carried her little teddy bear with her. She could always put a smile on my face."
A Good Vantage Point for Looking Up
Despite her small size, Lily isn't intimidated by other species - or larger canines, either.
"Lily is tiny compared to them but
she
loves to run and play with them.
She
follows them around and
seems to
look up to them."

She spends her mornings "playing and chasing the cats before I have to get ready for work," says Heather. After work, if Lily and Heather aren't going for a walk in the park, "we go visit family or friends who have pets as well. Lily loves to go to my friend's house and play with her two Labradors. Lily is tiny compared to them but she loves to run and play with them. She follows them around and seems to look up to them."
A Commanding Presence
Lily may be small but she's a powerhouse when it comes to getting noticed - and obeyed. "Lily is definitely a funny character," Heather says.
"She hates the flash on my camera so
she will often cover her face when
I'm trying to take her picture!"

"She will do just about anything to get attention! She often gets people to stop what they are doing to play with her. And she also has no problem letting you know if she isn't happy about something. For example, she hates the flash on my camera so she will often cover her face when I'm trying to take her picture!"
Lily and BLUE
The dog food Lily's breeder started her on had to be purchased on the Internet, so Heather began looking for something she could get more conveniently. "I spent a good deal of time researching healthy dog foods before deciding on BLUE," she says. "I loved that BLUE allowed us to compare it to our current food. Lily loves her new BLUE puppy food and doesn't leave her bowl until every piece is gone!"
